Job Summary:
The Bartender at Coopershill is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving a variety of drinks, including classic Irish beverages, cocktails, beer, and more. This role involves maintaining the bar area, assisting with inventory management, and ensuring that all guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience. The Bartender must be knowledgeable about the menu, create a welcoming atmosphere, and follow proper procedures for serving alcohol responsibly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drink Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of drinks, including beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation, while following the Coopershill drink recipes and standards.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service to guests, engaging with customers to enhance their experience at Coopershill. Take orders, make recommendations, and ensure guests are satisfied with their drinks and service.
- Bar Maintenance: Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift. Ensure proper sanitation of bar tools, glassware, and work surfaces.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process guest payments, including handling cash, credit cards, and tabs. Balance the register and complete cash-out procedures at the end of shifts.
- Inventory Management: Assist with stocking the bar, monitoring inventory levels, and communicating shortages or issues to the Bar Manager. Participate in inventory counts and ensure proper rotation of stock.
- Responsible Alcohol Service: Check IDs and verify the legal drinking age of customers. Adhere to all laws and regulations regarding alcohol service, including cutting off service to intoxicated customers when necessary.
- Bar Set-Up & Closing: Assist in setting up the bar for service, including preparing garnishes, stocking ice, and organizing bar tools. Perform closing duties such as cleaning the bar, restocking supplies, and completing end-of-shift tasks.
- Specialty Drink Creation: Collaborate with the Bar Manager or Head Bartender to create seasonal or special drinks, incorporating Irish influences that align with the Coopershill beverage program.
- Problem-Solving: Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional manner, escalating to the Bar Manager, FOH manager, or manager on duty when necessary.
Qualifications:

Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience as a bartender in a restaurant, pub, or bar setting.
- Familiarity with Irish pub culture and drink offerings is a plus.

Skills:
- Strong drink-making skills, including knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage and entertain guests.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of stocking, cleaning, and serving beverages.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Responsible alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe) preferred.
- Personality: Outgoing, personable, and able to create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for guests. Detail-oriented with a passion for crafting quality drinks.

Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
