Job Summary:
The Host at Coopershill is responsible for welcoming and seating guests in a friendly and efficient manner. As the first point of contact for guests, the Host sets the tone for the dining experience by providing exceptional customer service. This role involves managing reservations, seating arrangements, and waitlists, while also ensuring the dining area is organized and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Reception: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, acknowledge reservations, and manage seating arrangements based on availability and guest preferences. Ensure guests feel welcomed and valued from the moment they enter.
- Seating Management: Assign tables to guests, ensuring efficient seating to maximize table turnover while maintaining guest satisfaction. Communicate with servers to ensure they are prepared for new tables.
- Waitlist Management: Manage the waitlist during busy periods, providing accurate wait time estimates and keeping guests informed of their status.
- Reservation Management: Handle reservations, either by phone or online, ensuring accurate booking details and timely seating.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, accommodating special requests, and addressing any concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
- Cooperation with FOH Team: Communicate with the FOH team to ensure seamless coordination between hosts, servers, and bartenders. Assist with dining room organization and flow of service.
- Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas. Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area by clearing and resetting tables.
- Opening/Closing/End of Shift Duties: Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up the host station, checking reservations, and organizing seating charts.
Qualifications:

Experience:
- Prior experience as a host or in customer service is preferred but not required.

Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Food handler’s certification is a plus but not required.
- Personality: Friendly, outgoing, and able to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. A team player with a positive attitude and ability to multitask.
Working Conditions:
The Host will work in a fast-paced environment, often during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role requires standing for long periods and handling guest interactions in a busy setting.
Compensation: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
